post-grad fun!

Just some girls having a good time on a little post-grad road trip. We didn’t take enough pictures…because we were too busy having fun! First stop was Mesquite, NV (a poor man’s Vegas). We played bingo. We slept…which, if you’ve ever been through an MBA program you know, is a big deal. We lounged by the pool. Then it was on to Las Vegas. We enjoyed the luxury that was our suite at the Venetian. Relaxed in the beautiful Italian Garden hot tubs. Spent a little money at all of the fabulous outlets…including Coach (my new purse is classically beautiful and navy blue). And I finally got to see a Cirque de Soleil show; Mystere. It was a fantastic trip! Hopefully we’ll do it again soon!!!

a few days in the city

Over the past year, I have worked part-time for MBA recruiting…generally this has involved planning prospective student visits to campus. But this week, it meant a trip to NYC. The event went off relatively smoothly and we had a lot of people there (more than we’d ever had before).

However, since I was going to be out there anyway, I decided to make a trip from it. A mini-vacation, if you will. So, my bestie Kelly graciously hosted me (thanks Leslie for your bed!) and we had a splendid time. Here are a few pics documenting the 3.5 day trip.

If you ever go to NYC, Bryant Park is a must. It’s one of my favorite places…and you can get great food at ‘Wichcraft. We had delicious paninis and enjoyed lots of people watching. (There is no where on this earth where the people watching is as good as it is in New York.)

Don’t let the Cubs shirts fool you…we went to a Mets game. This was my second one and I have to say that I am a fan of the field, for sure. Not sure just yet which team I’m going to root for regularly, but I’m thinking it will probably be the Mets based on my employment.

And finally, Kelly and I met our friend Puz for lunch at this great new place called Pulino’s on the corner of Bowery and Houston (it’s pronounced “house-ton” for those of you who don’t want to seem uber touristy when you visit New York). Amazing thin crust pizzas.

P.S. For those of you who requested color pics of the latest hair, there you go. You could call it blond or brown. I was going to go lighter, but I think I’m just going to see what the sunshine in Arizona does to it over the next six weeks.

end of the football

We had our last football game last night. This picture isn’t from last night because no one came to take pictures of us. It was freezing cold. We were down three great players. We didn’t have our jerseys. Everything was against us. We got our collective trash kicked…which is too bad since the team we were playing wasn’t that good. Anyway…it was fun. And now it’s over. Sad. I don’t like when things end. Well, things that I like.

registration madness!

We had a little registration get together tonight. What does that mean? It means that we could register for classes at midnight and so I ensured that a group of us had something to do between the hours of 9 and 11…and some until 1:00 am.

For some reason (I know the reason and it involves Julie and Lagoon), we all ended up with high, side ponytails and our friend, Brian, decided to snap a couple of shots. I love the first one because you can really see what is going on. I love the second because you can really see who we are.
I can’t believe I just registered for the last classes I will take as an MBA student. This is all going by way too fast. Maybe if I slept more it wouldn’t feel so ridiculous? I’m getting sad just thinking about it…although I do have great things (and friends who I miss dearly) on the horizon in NYC, so it’s really just a little bittersweet.
And in case you are all wondering, I did actually register for certain classes based on the fact that they didn’t interfere with my skiing time. Last winter in Utah for a while and you better believe that I’m going to take full advantage of it.
