I don’t want a childhood. I want to be a ballet dancer.

  1. I am grateful for blogging and all of the wonderful people I have “met” and met through it.
  2. I am grateful for 5k’s, especially ones where I get to where a tutu.
  3. I am grateful for new running friends who motivate me.

If gratitude is due from children to their earthly parents, how much more is the gratitude of the great family of man due to our Father in heaven!

You know those moments when, suddenly, the world and everything in it makes sense…even if only for a moment. The interview with one school, the decision not to apply to another that is now being rethought, the order of events, thoughts, and decisions. It was like that.

And now I need to pack for my 24-hour trip south.

video may have killed the radio star…

But it has made it possible for you to see just how cute my nephew really is! Bear with me as I am not the greatest videographer…I like to take still shots much, much better. But it was fun to play with the new camera. (You won’t see any of me, but you can hear me…sometimes I say stupid things, and sometimes my little brother likes to point that out to me).

  1. I am grateful for technology…specifically that my new point and shoot digital camera that takes amazing videos. I have no desire at this point in my life to actually own a video camera, but this gets the job done. Sorry this video is a little long…but I have zero editing skills as of yet.
  2. I am grateful for my newfound love of the Wall Street Journal. It’s very strange, but I find it fascinating.
  3. I am grateful for my perfect eye-sight. Every so often, I think glasses would be fun…but then I get over it. I hate getting ready for bed as it is, and I’m sure I’d be a contact wearer if I could be, so that would just add one more step.

Gratitude is when memory is stored in the heart and not in the mind.

What is this? A center for ants?

  1. I am grateful for kindred spirits. There is a quote that captures my feelings on this matter perfectly.

It is not time or opportunity that is to determine intimacy; it is disposition alone. Seven years would be insufficient to make some people acquainted with each other, and seven days are more than enough for others. – Sense and Sensibility

  2. I am grateful for excellent books that are well written and make me think. I am currently reading The History of Love by Nicole Krauss for my book club (that I have yet to attend and once again will miss this week due to an impromptu trip out of state) and I love it. Unfortunately, I left it in Las Vegas so it is being sent to me. Although, considering I have one more application due on Saturday, this is probably a good thing. I’m crap when it comes to putting down a good book, especially for something as mundane and tedious as essay writing.
  3. I am grateful that my sixth grade core teacher, Mrs. Hoffaker, made us read as much as she did. And I’m even more grateful that she allowed me to bend her “no more than one book from any series” rule. I loved The Baby-sitters Club books and don’t think I would have caught the reading bug had it not been for Mrs. Hoffaker and that series.

Be glad of life because it gives you the chance to love, and to work, and to play and to look up at the stars.

It’s fricken freezing in here Mr. Bigglesworth

  1. I am grateful that the airport was so not busy tonight. It was heavenly.
  2. I am grateful that tonight was my first time in First Class. You should never knock something until you’ve experienced it. It was fabulous! I might be persuaded, if ever rich enough, to do it again…especially on long flights.
  3. I am grateful for satin p.j.’s, warm socks, a down comforter and a heavy quilt. My little studio was 45 degrees when I got home last night (I have no central heat…just a little space heater) but those things made it possible for me to fall asleep. A good thing considering it the temperature was only at 65 this morning, even though the heater was on all night.

In ordinary life we hardly realize that we receive a great deal more than we give, and that it is only with gratitude that life becomes rich.
