If you’re wondering why I haven’t been posting lately, it’s a combination of things. First of all, I no longer sit in front of a computer all day, nor do I have convenient internet access. Well, it’s okay in AZ since my sister has wireless, but I’m currently in Vegas…where they have a normal wired connection. I’m also very busy hanging out with my adorable nieces and nephews. Not to mention that I do have a job and two classes that I have to complete before July 1.
But the main reason you aren’t finding new posts here: LOST. I am totally and completely addicted. Before two weeks ago, I had not seen even one episode of the show. But, for his birthday, my older brother got seasons 1-3 on DVD and the night he got it, he made me watch the pilot. I was totally hooked from the first episode. Thankfully, he has been kind enough to let me borrow them. This means that all my free time (the little I have…ha ha ha) is spent in front of the television (or my laptop late at night when I should be sleeping) watching this totally addictive TV show.
To be honest, I’m a little embarrassed, but it’s the truth. Anyway…if you watch the show, I’m sure you understand what I’m talking about. If you don’t, you probably shouldn’t start if you have any kind of addictive tendencies. It’s taking over my life.
I am only halfway through season 2, so I won’t be watching the season finale on Thursday. I have to do things in order. But for those of you who are totally into it and have been watching it on TV, I hope the season finale is RAD! The good news is that I won’t have to wait until season 4 comes out on DVD since my sister-in-law has all of the episodes recorded. Yes, DVR/Tivo does change lives. I don’t have it, but I’m glad so many out there do so that I can benefit from it.
LOST is awesome! Glad to see you are addicted. I started just at the end of season 1…so I didnt have to catch up too much. BUt I was the same…close to every waking hour to get caught up.BTW the one on last week (2 hours long!) was spectacular.
ok, I am 100% addicted to LOST too. I started watching the DVD’s in Feb. And Because I belong to Blockbuster Online I get 3 dvds in the mail…so watched the fist season RIGHT AWAY! Then I had to pace myself, so every other week Michael and I watch a dvd. We are almost done with the 3rd season…and I’m ‘dying because I won’t watch the 4th until it’s on DVD! I heard that this is the last season and then I heard that the 5th season will be the last season. Bummer.
I watched Lost when it first came out. The pilot was great; very intense. But then, in the middle of the first season, they had a string of episodes that never showed the Hobbit (Charles?). Even though I could never get into the Lord of the Rings, the Hobbit was the best part of Lost. Without him, I couldn’t sustain interest. Oh well. With that said, I’m happy that you know what it’s like to be addicted to a TV show.
Yep, fellow Lost addictee here. I’ve been watching it from the beginning. I know about the DVD sickness of immediate gratification, though. That’s how I caught up on Heroes and Grey’s Anatomy. I had to do my own little TV-detox rehab afterwards.
Woohoo! I love Lost! And enjoy it on DVD while you can…I actually enjoyed the first two seasons a lot more than the third or fourth because we were able to watch them all on DVD (until we caught up). It’s such a great show, but SO LITTLE progresses each episode that it was nice to watch two or three a night…that sounds pathetic…but we totally did it…sometimes maybe four or five…
Ooooh, I can’t wait till you get to the Season Finale of Season 3. That was a really good episode! If you want to be really dorky you can go on this site called lostapedia and read more about Lost. But only if you are really dorky…
I can’t believe you’ve never watched Lost! You’ve gotta love Sawyer. Watching TV on DVD is a singular kind of guilty pleasure, isn’t it?
Glad to see you finally saw the light. ‘Bout time.
I Love Lost! I started it at work when I had down time! It really is so addicting. Now Drew and I just need to finish it so we can move on with a normal life, if there is such a thing. Glad your enjoying it!
Oh, I know how you feel. I own all three seasons on DVD, and I’m pretty sure I’ve watched every single one at least twice! (Wow, that sounds kinda pathetic, doesnt’ it? Oh well!) I think season four has been awesome so far, and I’m super excited for the season finale. Now the big question is, are you in favor of Jack and Kate OR Kate and Sawyer?
I told you, you would like it! Mark and I started watching it the same way. We borrowed the DVD’s after the first season and watched them all the way through. Candice
Oh man, I love LOST. We just finished watching the last couple of episodes on Saturday. I can’t WAIT for the season finale. Also, I’ve never seen a show that has so many consistently excellent characters. I love them all. But I love Charlie and Sawyer the most.
We watched the first season and were hooked and watched it in three big sessions. Then the second season we got sick of the waiting, so we said we would watch it marathon style when it was out. Now the third season is coming to a close and we still have the second to watch! I think we know the addiction so we have been holding off until we have a chunk of time. Glad you are at least enjoying the little free time you have!
totally, completely, utterly addicted. don’t talk to me on thursdays, i’m busy.
i know the feeling. it hits you like a lead balloon and you just. can’t. get. enough. you watch it for hours and hours and hours on end, eating and drinking in front of the tv or computer (or skipping food altogether), watching with bloodshot eyes, forgoing sleep for just a couple more episodes. and before you know it, you’ve watched a couple of seasons but you also haven’t spoken to an actual person for a little while, you have held it in for far too long, and you realize that you haven’t showered for a couple of days…and…yeah…i should stop.
